A sale of assets from a Staffordshire fashion distribution business has raised £56,000. A further undisclosed sum was achieved from the sale of part of the intellectual property assets of the business.

The sale, conducted by Charterfields, consisted of assets from Fashion Fast Logistics LLP of Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent which delivered garments to retailers throughout the country and which closed on 28 January 2011. On offer were the vehicle fleet of 12 box vans and tractor units, together with large amounts of garment racking plus packaging and warehouse equipment.

Matt Lyons of Charterfields’ Manchester office said: “The sale attracted interest from others in the fashion distribution industry and we are pleased with the result of the sale.”

A tender sale of printing equipment held in Richmond, Yorkshire has raised over £160,000.

The sale, conducted by Charterfields, consisted of assets from Castle Colour Printers, which was based on Gallowfields Industrial Estate and which closed on February 25. Items on offer included a Heidelberg five-colour Printmaster press, a digital printer, print finishing equipment, computers and other office equipment.

Ian Maycock, director of Charterfields, said: “This was a successful and well-attended sale of some specialist items of equipment. The values achieved and the total amount raised have exceeded expectations.”

A company which produced software programmes used by the NHS, the police force, schools, corporate institutions and other public sector bodies has gone into Administration.

The search is now for a buyer for the software business of Applied Information Ltd, which has developed applications for HR, auditing and compliance. Administrators KSA Group have appointed Charterfields to help find a buyer.

Applied Information has three key products. ai 360 is a career development software application that allows individuals to receive feedback and appraisals from managers, customers and others while ai QA covers quality control and accreditation, allowing managers’ actions to be assessed against quality frameworks.

Both applications are used by police forces throughout the country while ai 360 is also used by a leading betting and gaming chain. They are the only applications of their type to have achieved the government standard, HMG Infosec Standard 2, and the only ones approved for use on the Criminal Justice Extranet (CJX).

A third product, ai accelerate achievement, allows schools to evaluate themselves against the Ofsted inspection framework, plan improvements and report to governors. It has been licensed by over 800 schools to date.

Roger Cutting, a director of Charterfields, said: “All three software applications have a proven track record, an established client base and income stream. We are seeking buyers who can support the existing users and ensure the ongoing development of the products.

“It’s an ideal opportunity for software businesses who want to expand their product portfolio and client base, or for audit firms and consultancies who already provide services in these areas to add a complementary software offering.”
